SUNDAY COFFEE HOUR
Hints for Nut Safe Snack Prep
In order to help keep St.Barnabas members with severe food allergies safe, we recommend that volunteers:
❏ Wash hands with soap and water before unpackaging foods/snacks
❏ Read ingredients labels on all coffee hour snacks (i.e., cookie packages) to be sure they do not contain peanuts, tree nuts or traces of nuts (peanuts or various tree nuts may be listed within the ingredients list or nuts could be listed in a “Contains” statement beneath the list of ingredients)
❏ Place nut-free snack onto a plate
❏ Place the original snack packaging (wrapper, carton, etc.) under the plate so that individuals with food allergies will be able to double-check the label for potential food allergens
PLEASE NOTE: These suggestions will help reduce the risk of cross-contamination to individuals with peanut/tree nut allergies. Thank you for helping keep members of our church and Deep River community safe and healthy.
